Orphans of War was created in the UAE, following a tremendous response from residents to the plight of Afghanistan’s forgotten children.
Following a visit to Kabul, Dubai based multi-media journalist, Natalie Carney, who has worked and lived in the UAE for more than 5 years, realized the very real role the UAE could play in providing these children, devastated by war, with hope.
Her first initiative was simple - to re-direct excess items including clothes and books etc. to children in orphanages who desperately need it.
Since, generous UAE residence have been offering their time and services to continue the aid for these children.
Including, long term Dubai resident, Kabul Wazir Mir. His concern for the situation in Afghanistan and neighbouring Swat Valley, Pakistan has allowed us to do even more.
