Orphans of War is currently a small, yet diverse group doing what they can, such as:
1. Donations:
In 2008 & 2009, through media announcements, the public was mobilized. Generous UAE residences began dropping off their un-needed clothes, games, books, shoes and other such items for the orphans.
More generous residence then stepped in on weekends to help sort through hundreds of bags and boxes.
In the end, Orphans of War packed over two tons donations/ 94 cartons and shipped them off for the girls at Mehan orphanage in Kabul.
2. 2010 Calendar Campaign:
During Orphans of War trips to Afghanistan and the Swat Valley in Pakistan, they took some amazing pictures of the kids. A compilation of these pictures in the form of a calendar has allowed us to raise awareness for them.
3. Awareness Campaigns:
Since Orphans of War was co-founded by a multimedia journalist, video & sound is very much part of our story telling.
A documentary is currently in production about the children and those who devote their lives to helping them.
Orphans of War also speaks at schools & gatherings across the UAE about the cause.
