Afghanistan

An entire generation in Afghanistan knows nothing but war. The fighting, which has killed millions of people, has not stopped for more than 30 years. With out parents many helpless, innocent children are left to struggle for survival in an angry world.

According to international agencies, there are currently more than 2 million orphaned children in Afghanistan. 700,000 of them live in sub poverty conditions.

Meanwhile, according to the UNHCR there are approximately 50,000 to 60,000 street children in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul alone. Other organizations estimate that number to be much higher.
